What is the purpose of this drug?
It is used to treat COVID-19 in SARS-CoV-2 patients.

Cautions
There are little accessible clinical data; significant and unanticipated side effects may occur but have not yet been recorded.
When supplied to pregnant women, this substance may be teratogenic.
Toxicological effects on bone and cartilage
Not approved for use in individuals less than 18 years due to potential effects on bone and cartilage development
On repeated dosage, bone and cartilage damage was reported in rats.
Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been demonstrated.

Dosage Modifications
Renal impairment
Mild or moderate (eGFR >30 mL/min): No dose modification is required.
Patients with severe (eGFR 30 mL/min), end-stage renal disease, or dialysis: Not investigated for pharmacokinetics; not anticipated to have a major impact on NHC (N4-hydroxycytidine) exposure.
hepatic dysfunction
Mild to severe (Child-Pugh Classes A to C): No dose modification is necessary.
Hepatic elimination is not likely to be a key route of NHC clearance, according to preclinical evidence.
Considerations for Dosage
Prior to commencing treatment, the pregnancy status of women of reproductive potential should be determined.
Restrictions on usage
Not approved for use in patients younger than 18
Not permitted for use in individuals who require hospitalization because to COVID-19

Administration
Administration by Mouth
Oral administration, with or without food
Missed dose
<10 hours: Take the missing dosage as soon as possible and resume your regular dosing routine.
>10 hours: Skip the dosage and take the following one at the normal time.
Do not duplicate the dose to compensate for a missing one.
Storage
Temperature variations between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius (59 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit) are acceptable.
